The Digging Grounds are the third highlight.

This is where visitors can loosen the gemstones from the rock, using the provided tools (protective goggles and helmet are required – you can borrow them from the digging master).

After that, you can wash, sort and process the Carinthian gemstones – the garnet is the only gemstone found in Carinthia – in the crystal-clear water of the Kaningbach stream, using equipment that was modelled after the original devices.
