At the Garnet Museum you’ll delve into the mysterious world of garnet: How was it formed? Where was it mined? And why is it called Bohemian garnet?
A real wow experience awaits you in the Garnet room auf euch – a room built from 80 tons of garnet stones!
You can then go on a discovery tour yourself in the Garnet tunnel, the only accessible garnet vein in Europe.
The best comes last: In the mining area, grab a hammer and search for your own garnet stone – a real adventure with a guaranteed glittering find!

THE GARNET MUSEUM
The exhibition takes you on an exciting journey into the world of garnet. You will experience the history of this fascinating stone up close!
THE GARNET ROOM
In the Garnet Room, you’ll find a room whose walls are covered with wafer-thin garnet slabs. Feel the energy of the garnet gemstone, a symbol of love and passion: light and music play with your emotions, and the red color and beauty of the mineral touch the senses.
THE CARFUNCLE TUNNEL
Now things get really adventurous… The 300-meter-long tunnel takes you into the subterranean home of the gemstone. Discover a crystal-clear lake and impressive veins of pyrite and garnet – a truly adventurous excursion!
THE MINING AREA
The mining area is the highlight of the Granatium. Here, everything you’ve heard and seen before comes to life – with the right tools, you can even unearth gemstones from the rock yourself!

The Granatium Adventure World is a true paradise for children! Whether it’s a guided tour for kindergartens and schools or a family outing, adventures like prospecting on the mining site, exciting fairytale tours, challenging puzzle rallies, and many other surprises await you here. Of course, the prices for children are super fair – and birthday children can look forward to free admission!
BUSES WELCOME!
We love groups! Do you offer bus tours? Then the Granatium Adventure World is the perfect place for you. Your bus guests can hop on and off right in front of the entrance. We also open our doors for bus groups at flexible times, tailored to your needs.

Guided tours of the Granatium are available from May to the end of October! Pick up our free audio guide (DE/EN/IT/NL) – just bring your headphones! Please allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit. The Granatium is largely wheelchair accessible and also suitable for strollers.
Would you like to visit the Granatium with a group? Group reservations for 20 to 30 people are available at any time at possible.
Please reserve at least one week in advance so we can prepare everything for you.
