A really cool educational excursion! The Granatium Museum takes you on an exciting journey into the world of garnet. You can touch the smooth garnet sculptures, admire ancient gold and garnet cross brooches and find out what “mother rock” and “garnet steps” are all about. During the guided tours, you will learn all about garnet mining and why the “blood drop of the Nockberge” is so important here in Radenthein.
The highlight? Of course, the mining area! With the right tools, you can knock gemstones out of the rock and take them home with you. And best of all: the digging area is covered, so you can get started even in bad weather. A perfect mix of adventure, fun and knowledge – every student will become a gemstone expert!

The museum
The exhibition takes you on an exciting journey into the world of garnet. You will experience the history of this fascinating stone up close!
The tunnel
The 300 m long tunnel takes you into the underground home of the gemstone. Discover a crystal-clear lake and impressive veins of pyrite and garnet – a real adventure!
The mining area
The mining area is the highlight of the Granatium. Here, everything you have heard and seen before comes to life – with the right tools, you can even uncover gemstones from the rock!
The garnet room
In the garnet room, you will find a room whose walls are covered with wafer-thin slabs of garnet stone. The clever backlighting creates a spectacular play of colors that showcases the magic of this precious stone.
The store
Jewelry, cosmetics, fine chocolates and sparkling gemstones – you can find it all in the Granatium Shop on the 1st floor. Let yourself be enchanted!
